The 2015 Chicago Innovation Showcase: where fundable companies connect with capital sources and attendees network with the entrepreneurial energy of the life sciences, health IT and regulated technologies across the Chicago region. TheChicago Innovation Showcase features presentations from many of the exciting complex technologies that are being commercialized in the Chicago region.
The event opens with How Naurex Financed with Investors Nationwide. Speaking publicly for the first time since the exit, we’ll have an intimate conversation with Bill Gantz (PathoCapital; Aptinyx Board Chairman; previously Ovation Pharma and Naurex Executive Chairman) and Ashish Khanna (now Chief Business Officer, Aptinyx) who will discuss how Naurex successfully raised funding from investors across the US and Canada and the path to its recent $560 million exit. Following this session, the finalists of the 2015 PROPEL Business Plan Competition will compete for a $15,000 cash prize. Finalists are Diagnostic Photonics, NovaScan, Opticent Health, PhotoniCare and Sintact Medical Systems. The day closes withfast-pitch presentations by 15 local ventures with complex science technologies representing Argonne National Laboratory, IIT, Northwestern University, MATTER, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago and others.
