The Research Park at the University of Illinois provides an environment where technology-based businesses can work with faculty and students to take advantage of opportunities for collaborative research and easy access to University labs, equipment and services. Located on campus, the Research Park is now home to more than 90 companies and growing, employing more than 1,400 people in high-technology careers. At any given time more than 400 student interns are working in these companies gaining valuable work experience while making real contributions to internal corporate R&D and product development programs. Publicly traded firms in the Research Park include: ADM, Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar, Deere & Company, Dow Chemical, Littelfuse, Neustar, Pearson, Riverbed, Sony, State Farm, and Yahoo. The Research Park is also home to 50+ startup companies that are commercializing technology. The Research Park also features a daycare, hotel, and conference facilities. Events are open to the public, and there is a fee for the mobile app development course. Office space in the Research Park is available for lease to local, national and international organizations large and small. Research Park clients can access world-class research and facilities at the University of Illinois (UI) via UI Sponsored Research Agreement; UI student practicums/project courses; UI Facility Use Agreement; and UI Technical Testing Agreement.
