Scott Dempwolf is Assistant Research Professor in the Urban Studies and Planning Program at the University of Maryland, College Park, and Director of the UMD–Morgan State Center for Economic Development. His research examines relationships between innovation, manufacturing, and economic development in global and regional contexts. Prior to returning to academia, Dr. Dempwolf practiced community and economic development for more than 20 years at the neighborhood, city, county, and regional levels.
