Anneke is a Partner at Quarles and Brady in the firm’s Business Law Practice Group. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, representing institutional investors in connection with their direct and fund investments, general corporate counseling, and commercial contracting. Her recent experiences include representing private equity funds in acquisitions and negotiating complex joint venture agreements.
Timo is an Associate at Pritzker Group Venture Capital. Timo joined Pritzker in 2013, having previously worked at Altman Vilandrie & Company in Boston, a consultancy focused on the telecom and technology sectors. An avid aficionado of all things tech, Timo is particularly interested in big data and analytics. Timo graduated with a degree in mathematics with a minor in East Asian studies from Harvard University.
Manuel Ozaeta is the Director of Membership at 1871, Chicago’s entrepreneurial hub for digital startups. In this role he supports and facilitates the needs of new and current members at 1871. Ozaeta has a wealth of experience through a diverse background in communications, legislative affairs, and customer service. Previously, Ozaeta was a Senior Communications Consultant at a boutique public affairs firm in Chicago and has served as a legislative aide in the United States House of Representatives.
Bernadette is the CEO and President of Brella Productions, a full-service communications company specializing in video, interactive, and events. Bernadette and Mark Mallchok met on Northwestern University’s fencing team, fell in love and after freelancing together they founded Brella Productions in 1992. By embracing evolving technologies and new markets, Bernadette and Mark grew Brella from a two-person video team to a 100-person communications firm.
The panel moderator, Joel Bosch, has more than two decades of experience building new businesses and creating positive social impact. Most recently, Mr. Bosch was COO of eCD Market, an online marketplace for FDIC-insured accounts. Prior to joining eCD Market, Mr. Bosch specialized in creating online banking businesses. In addition to his for profit work, Mr. Bosch brings significant not-for-profit experience including serving on the Chicago chapter steering committee for StartOut. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stanford University.
