The Study Chicago began as a space for writers. It began, in fact, as a space for a single solitary writer. Then, a photographer came along, and then a grad student. As various practices and personalities began using the space, it was decided that we should open our doors as a productive respite for anyone working for him or herself. The Study strives for 100% utility in design, rejecting the current "corporate hip" model of co-working, better suited towards team-based projects, and the monitoring employees.
We want The Study to stand out as the place where you get the most accomplished, not the hippest place to look busy. Our modular desks allow members to set up a workspace wherever they feel most comfortable. Our lockers allow you to keep your mind on your work without worrying about your possessions. Future plans include private work spaces, so your work-in-progress can be left and revisited the next day, phone calls can be made, music played, and you can work for long periods without interruption.
